The country referred to in the Surah is the country of the Prophet, may the best prayers and peace be upon him, which is Mecca.

One of the virtues of Surah Balad is that it honors the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and also honors his city, which is Mecca.

After the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, left Mecca, he and all those who believed with him fled from the polytheists and their oppression.

So Allah Almighty swore an oath in Mecca, and this oath is a warning message to the polytheists.

In addition to that, this Surah explained the lies of the polytheists, as they believed that their wealth would protect them from the torment of their polytheism in Allah.

The verses in the surah also indicate the power of Allah Almighty in His creation and creativity of man.

This is evident in Allah Almighty’s creation of man, granting him eyes, tongue, and lips.

The Surah Balad also dealt with the Day of Resurrection and mentioned through its verses the horrors that will occur on it.

Whoever comes to Allah with a sound heart will be saved on this day.

The virtue of reading Surah Al Balad

Surah Al Balad is one of the surahs in which there are no hadiths indicating its virtue, but Allah Almighty has allocated a great reward for reading the Holy Quran.

It is known that the Quran will intercede for its companion on the Day of Resurrection, and whoever recites the Quran will be elevated in status and standing in the Hereafter and his good deeds will increase.

The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, “Read the Quran. It is the Day of Judgment comes an intercessor for its companions.

We find that the virtue of Surah Balad is that it has a reward for its recitation like the rest of the surahs of the Holy Quran for reciting it. A letter in the Quran is a good deed, and a good deed is rewarded ten times its value.

Importance of Surah Balad

Allah Almighty began the verses with the glad tidings of our Master Muhammad, may the best prayers and peace be upon him, of the conquest of Mecca at his hands.

As Allah Almighty mentioned in Surah Balad the types of rich people, some of them were righteous and spent their money for the sake of Allah Almighty.

As for the rich polytheists, they were arrogant and miserly and did not spend their money for the sake of Allah.

Because they believed that this money would prevent them from torment on the Day of Resurrection.

They brag about this money that Allah Almighty has blessed them with, and they spend it on everything that Allah has forbidden, just as they also spend their money on their desires.

They believed that Allah Almighty does not see them and that He does not hold them accountable for this money, which they spent on lusts and forbidden things.

Allah Almighty said about that: “Does it matter if no one sees him?”

The verses also showed us the many blessings that Allah bestowed on the unbelievers. These blessings are represented in the fact that Allah Almighty granted them eyes, tongue, and lips.

Allah Almighty said: “Have We not given him two eyes * and a tongue and two lips * and guided him to help?” But they used these blessings to do forbidden things and disobey Allah Almighty.

In addition to that, Allah Almighty has given man many blessings and has shown him the way. A person must choose whether to choose the path of good or choose the path of evil.

Allah Almighty also made it clear through these verses that the rich must spend their money on good deeds.

These actions are represented by what Allah Almighty has explained to us, which is feeding the poor and the poor.

And other charitable works that require spending a lot of money. Allah Almighty said: “Or feeding on a day of need * an orphan of close relatives * or a needy person of need.

In addition, the verses of Surah Balad explain to us the reward for those who are stingy and do not spend their money in this world for good.

And whoever disbelieves in the verses of Allah will have a great punishment, and his recompense will be the fire of Hell, and wretched is the destination.

And Allah Almighty said: “And those who disbelieve in Our signs are the companions of the curse; upon them will be a burning fire.”

Conclusion

At the end of this article, we will have explained the virtue of Surah Balad, and we will have deduced the benefits contained in the Surah for man. Man must thank Allah Almighty for the blessings that Allah has bestowed upon him and not be proud of the abundance of his wealth and spend it on charitable works so that he will be saved in the afterlife.
