The Story of Surah Al Feel

The surah Al feel begins with the mention of the Army of the Elephants, led by Abraha, marching towards Mecca with the malevolent intent to destroy the Holy Kaaba. This army, equipped with elephants, was perceived as an unstoppable force in the eyes of the people. However, Allah’s divine plan unfolds as a remarkable turn of events takes place.

Divine Intervention

As the Army of the Elephants advances, the surah recounts how Allah thwarted their nefarious plans. The skies were filled with flocks of birds, Ababil, carrying stones in their beaks and claws. These birds rained down upon the invaders, turning their formidable army into a scene of defeat and destruction. The Kaaba remained untouched, safeguarded by the divine will.

Lessons from Surah Al Fil

1. Ultimate Divine Power

Surah Al Fil serves as a potent reminder of the ultimate power and authority of Allah. Regardless of the apparent strength of worldly forces, it is the divine will that prevails. The story underscores the concept that nothing and no one can challenge or overcome Allah’s sovereignty.

2. Trust in Divine Protection

The believers in Makkah faced a formidable threat, yet they placed their trust in Allah’s protection. This trust was rewarded with a miraculous intervention that not only saved the Kaaba but also demonstrated the unfathomable ways in which Allah safeguards His devotees.

3. Divine Timing

The events in Surah Al Feel unfolded at a precise moment – a testament to the divine timing of Allah’s interventions. This serves as a reminder that things happen according to a divine plan, and believers should maintain patience and trust in Allah’s timing, even when faced with challenging situations.

4. The Power of Humility

The story of the Army of the Elephants highlights the arrogance and pride of those who sought to destroy the Kaaba. In contrast, the believers in Makkah exhibited humility and reliance on Allah. Surah Feel emphasizes the importance of humility before the divine, as arrogance can lead to downfall.
