  • From warning Muslims not to follow their own whims. Or urging them to become attached to someone other than Allah Almighty.
  • Allah mentioned His servants in the Surah that they are approaching the Day of Resurrection. He also reminded them that they will be held severely accountable for all the actions they have taken.
  • Allah also reminded people of death, and that encouraged believers to increase their acts of obedience. They are also keen to perform good deeds. And so that the unbelievers and those who deny the blessings of Allah Almighty are also threatened.
  • Ensuring that Muslims adhere to the religion of Allah, and steadfast in their position in defending the religion. It is the responsibility of every Muslim individual.

This is so that it does not become a reason for a person to disbelieve in the blessings of Allah Almighty.
  • The verses remind Muslims of the right of Allah Almighty to worship Him alone. Since He is the one Lord worthy of worship.
  • The inherent characteristic of the servants is their ingratitude towards the grace of Allah Almighty. Whereas the individual for whom Allah has destined success is the one who trains himself to do so.

Lessons

After we presented the theme of Surah Adiyat, let us learn about its lessons, as there are many benefits related to Surah Al Adiyat. As Allah mentioned in its verses and places many lessons and things that can be benefited. Here are the lessons of Surah Adiyat:

Statement of horse greatness

The reason for Allah Almighty’s saying, “And the ordinary horses are slaughtered” is due to explaining the greatness of the ordinary horses.

This is because this horse is characterized by speed and strength against the enemy.

He also has the ability to break into many fields of jihad and beneath the swords.

What Allah meant when He said “dhah” is the sound that is in the stomachs of horses when they run quickly when they gallop against an enemy in the morning.

The virtue of jihad and its great status

Allah Almighty began the verses of Surah Adiyat by talking about the horses of Al-Adiyat.

Which works to transfer the Mujahideen to the army community.

This is to indicate the great importance of jihad in Islam.

Armies must be prepared for that purpose.

This is based on the hadith of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, “Horses have goodness tied to their forelocks until the Day of Resurrection.”

The effort of the Mujahideen for the sake of Allah

The verses of Surat Al Adiyat make it clear that the path of jihad is not an easy path.

Likewise, if a Muslim individual undertakes that path, he must be capable of it and qualified for it.

Since Allah Almighty had explained in Surah Al-Adiyat to soak the dust raised by horses.

Despite the effort and suffering expended during jihad for the sake of Allah.

However, Allah has promised them a good reward, as the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said that no dust is collected in the path of Allah with the smoke of Hell.

Horse training and care

The verses of Surat Al Adiyat indicate the necessity of taking care of horses.

In addition to ensuring that it is prepared to carry out the tasks that a Muslim individual needs.

This is through training and competitions.

Allah Almighty had mentioned slander, and that was in His saying, “Muriyyat is slander.”

This is an indication of the need for Muslims to pay attention to shoeing horses, which is one of the methods of prevention.

Reason for the Revelation

Surah Adiyat was revealed to bring reassurance and good news to the heart of the Prophet Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and his companions. It was also revealed to repel the plots of the hypocrites to their throats.

Since the Noble Messenger of Allah had sent a company to the neighborhoods of Kanaka, and their news was delayed.

Then the hypocrites said that everyone in the company had been killed.

Then this surah was revealed, which carries good news and describes the state of the company’s horses in terms of strength and patience.

As the Surah talks about the horses that gallop and invade during the battles and wars that Muslims enter for the sake of Allah Almighty.

Allah swore by horses in that Surah, and that is considered glorification of horses.
